Hand in Hand Project
“Hand in Hand” is an annual prominent project among the fundraising initiatives launched by the Rotaract Club of the University of Moratuwa. The project aims to support the brightest and boldest cancer-affected children at Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama. With the dedication and imperative commitment of Rotaractors, this annual groundbreaking project has managed to elevate the facilities and medications of the wards at Apeksha Hospital while nurturing hopes in the hearts of young patients.
The official website of the project is already developed and deployed. My task was to update the contact page and implement the donation page.
Project Overview
As part of the web development team for the 2023/2024 year, my responsibilities included:
Contact Page Update: The contact page was developed but was not functioning correctly. I created a form to collect messages from users and integrated it with a Firebase database to store the messages.
Donation Page Implementation: I fully implemented the donation page. This involved displaying bank details on the page and creating a form to collect donor details and payment slips. These details were then stored in a Firebase database, accessible to the administrators.
My Contributions
Contact Page: Developed a functional form for the contact page, ensuring that messages from users are stored securely in a Firebase database.
Donation Page: Designed and implemented the donation page, displaying bank details and creating a form for donor information and payment slips, with all data stored in Firebase for admin access.
